Dear Residents' Association & Local Organisation Representative,
This letter is being sent to Residents' Associations and local organisations representing residents who are affected by the operations of Biggin Hill Airport and who have concerns about its impact on the local community. It is a copy of the message sent to supporters.. ====== 16 September 2023 Following our August Newsletter, we have been informed by the Airport Monitoring Officer, James George, that the promised update on the progress of the NAP Revision will be presented to the Executive, Resources and Contracts Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee (ERCPDS) on Monday 18th September 2023, followed by the Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday 20th September 2023. We recommend that as many of our supporters and like-minded local residents attend both meetings so that Councillors and Officers are in no doubt about our concerns regarding the expansion of BHAL and that they should keep residents firmly in mind during any further negotiations. The meetings will take place at the Council Chambers in Stockwell Close, Bromley, as previously. Each will start at 7pm. Remember the dates! Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th September 2023. Please do attend. Thank you for your continued support. Best regards Flightpath Watch Ltd https://flightpathwatch.co.uk

Dear Residents' Association & Local Organisation Representative,
This letter is being sent to Residents' Associations and local organisations representing residents who are affected by the operations of Biggin Hill Airport and who have concerns about its impact on the local community. It is a copy of the message sent to supporters.. ====== Below is a brief update on recent developments. Noise Action Plan (NAP) We are expecting to hear in August how the BHAL NAP Revision negotiations are progressing when a report is provided to the LBB Executive, in accordance the Committee’s instruction last February. We anticipate that progress has been slow, but we will be looking for indications that the submissions from Flightpath Watch and from residents have been heeded. When the Revised NAP document is published for consideration we shall ask residents to support us at the Council meetings. Meanwhile, please continue to write to your local Councillors with your concerns about living under the flight path and stress that they should be addressed in the revised document. Increase in flight movements Many of you will have noticed the increasing numbers of aircraft departing from BHAL reaching further to the East than previously, extending from Downe to Orpington. Incoming flights from Thames/Dartford routes are also spreading out further according to residents in Petts Wood and Chislehurst. This appears to be a trial for the Future Airspace Strategy Implementation (FASI) for the CAA. Our concerns are that BHAL will use this strategy as a reason to override the restrictions currently imposed by the Lease on the flight paths they should operate. |
