It is with great regret that the Board of Trustees of the ICARE Day Centre Trust announced recently that the charity’s financial situation does not allow it to continue and that our Day Centre will have to close. This has been the most difficult and saddest of decisions to have to take, but it is simply not possible to carry on. For 38 years ICARE has served people in Bromley and the surrounding area living with the effects of a stroke. Our Day Centre in Green Street Green has offered rehabilitation, friendship and support for people who have had a stroke, and respite for their families and carers. Many have been helped over those years and the fact that present circumstances mean we cannot continue is a great disappointment and loss. Like many charities, we have been a victim of the pandemic, after which our client numbers were significantly down, as was our income. Despite considerable efforts, but in the face of the cost-of-living increases that we have all seen, we have been unable to build up the number of clients again. We have had support from the local community throughout our existence, and especially in recent months in response to our Save ICARE appeal. However, it became clear that even this would not secure a long term future for ICARE; we cannot cover our costs and therefore have no choice but to close the Centre and wind up the charity in an orderly manner. We are so very grateful to all those who have supported us over many years. On behalf of our clients as well as ICARE, we thank you all wholeheartedly. We have been able to contact some of the donors who responded to the appeal regarding their donations. If we have not yet been in touch with you, please contact us at the Centre by the end of October. (01689 862883; [email protected]) Thank you. ICARE Centre, Green Street Green

Tfl is proposing changes to bus routes R1, R2, R3, R6 and B14
They would like to hear your views on proposed changes to bus routes R1, R2, R3, R6 and B14 in Orpington. The changes aim to provide some improved bus connections. Changes to the R1, R3 and B14 would mean the R2 and R6 would no longer run. Visit the website for more information, to view maps and to have your say. Consultation closes on Wednesday 1 November. Louise Cheeseman Director of Buses Dear Residents' Association & Local Organisation Representative,
This letter is being sent to Residents' Associations and local organisations representing residents who are affected by the operations of Biggin Hill Airport and who have concerns about its impact on the local community. It is a copy of the message sent to supporters.. ====== 16 September 2023 Following our August Newsletter, we have been informed by the Airport Monitoring Officer, James George, that the promised update on the progress of the NAP Revision will be presented to the Executive, Resources and Contracts Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee (ERCPDS) on Monday 18th September 2023, followed by the Executive Committee meeting on Wednesday 20th September 2023. We recommend that as many of our supporters and like-minded local residents attend both meetings so that Councillors and Officers are in no doubt about our concerns regarding the expansion of BHAL and that they should keep residents firmly in mind during any further negotiations. The meetings will take place at the Council Chambers in Stockwell Close, Bromley, as previously. Each will start at 7pm. Remember the dates! Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th September 2023. Please do attend. Thank you for your continued support. Best regards Flightpath Watch Ltd https://flightpathwatch.co.uk Sadly the pre-school hit a financial glitch and the decision was made not to continue for the September term.
However, GSGA are negotiating with another provider and hope to be able to announce new arrangements shortly. |
