Celebrations took place in Orpington High Street on Thursday 2 June, with Deputy Lieutenant Geoffrey Thompson, Deputy Mayor Christine Harris, Reverend George Rogers from All Saints and Gary Valentine, toastmaster & secretary of the Royal British Legion (RBL). Kim Botting attended as the local ward Councillor & President of RBL Orpington Branch. Peter Godsmark from the RBL was also there wearing the Queen's Coronation Medal. Green Street Green also had its own celebrations: A Jubilee Cream Tea, at the Greenwood Centre, was a free event provided by the Green Street Green Association (CIO) and attracted 60 attendees between 3 and 5 pm on Saturday 4 June. The local Waitrose generously supplied the scones, jam and clotted cream and 13 local volunteers assisted on the day. On Sunday 5 June, Glentrammon Gardens residents held a street party which was honoured by the ward Councillors Mike Botting, with his wife Kim, and Angela Page and Deputy Mayor Cllr Christine Harris and her consort Cllr Nicholas Bennett.
