UPDATE: Nothing much happening. Apparently no planning breaches have occurred. 8 September 2019 Building work has begun and 'phase 1' - the Waterside Building - now exists and 50 crypts are available to purchase at prices starting at £11,200. The building looks suspiciously like a new build, rather than 'alterations' to the existing building, which is surely in breach of the planning permission. Our local Councillor Mike Botting has been informed and asked to look into the matter. If the Planning Department Enforcement Officer finds there have been any divergences from the planning permission granted by the Inspectorate, following two rejections by Bromley's Planning Committee, they have the power to stop further development and even to demand removal of any building in breach of the permission. If this Mausoleum goes ahead, there are only 690 crypts for sale. Prices range from £11,200 upwards, depending on the location (5 levels) and the length of lease (20, 50, 75 and 99 years). This is very expensive by competitive comparisons and, since there is no crematorium attached, any income will cease once all the crypts are sold, for at least the next 20 years. The owners may have enough capital to maintain the site in the future but what will happen if they do not and it is left to decay? Will the Council have to take it over? Will c.£400,000 pa be sufficient, assuming that all the crypts are sold and remain full, being resold as leases expire? What happens if part-payments for leases are not maintained by families? How many staff will be needed for administration, transport, gardening and maintenance? What happens if the owners wind up the company and go off with the proceeds? What is the legal position? There are so many unanswered questions. If anyone has any further information about this dubious project, please post comments. Below is the website: www.brightwater.group/ The pile of earth at the front of the site had diminished but has now increased again. Where on earth is all this soil coming from and where does it go? Bromley Council are investigating, as I queried the issue of new build instead of alteration of the existing building which, in my opinion, was not viable for creating the right environment!

A very strange affair which definetely looks like a new build. I cannot see how this can work long term and it is very expensive. I would like to hear how this progresses please.
